Yellow-Spotted Wolf Snake is a native specie of India. Its scientific name is Lycodon flavomaculatus. It is mainly found in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. Its prime locations are Mumbai, Thane, Nashik and Sangli districts of Maharashtra.
Common Wolf Snake have white colour bars on its back. On the otherside Yellow-Spotted Wolf Snake have either yellow spots or distinct yellowish cross-bars on its back. The colour of this snake is rather dark blackish-grey than brown. If you put this snake in a spirit solution then the spots lose their yellow colour after Twenty-Four hours and thereafter turns white.
